Women for Sale

A display within a San Francisco mall exhibited seven young females with prices attached to all their bodies. The displays, part of a campaign by the Functioning Group Against Human Trafficking, sought to highlight the issue of human trafficking and to raise awareness of the issue. The advertising featured the women’s ages, weight, elevation, and other measurements. They also included their countries of labor and birth and gender. In the process, the women’s experiences and the function of the performers were taken to light.

An set up called “Women for Sale” was created by the Task Power about Human Trafficking in Sweden, as part of a campaign to build consumption of sexual services a offense. The set up was an interactive set up, which exhibited real ladies and their prices with all the data they may provide: level, weight, and measurements.
